Discipline During Match & Fixtures

Dear Parents & Players,

Junior Football Leagues are stamping down on indiscipline and unruly behaviour during official fixtures. This include poor behaviour from the sideline. Some games have been abandoned by participants and parents who cannot control their actions as role models.

Our league have decided- with immediate effect - that any abandoned match due to the indiscipline of players, coaches or parents will result in the withdrawal of fixtures until the affiliating County has dealt with the matter. This could include expulsion from the Warrington Junior Football League altogether.

I’m pleased that this message is not directly aimed at Sankey Strikers JFC but at the whole of the Warrington Junior Football League including WSJFL, and the WGFL.

Please familiarise yourself again with our FA Code of Conduct and remember this during all fixtures and matches:

- Parents are not allowed to enter the pitch at any point before, during or after the match. They must remain behind the respect barrier. Sankey Strikers coaches must use respect barriers during all home fixtures.

- Please refrain from engaging in conversation with the referee or members of the opposition. Any match official (whether a volunteer or league allocated) must be respected and their decision upheld no matter whether favourable or unfavourable.

- Players must respect the officials decision. Every instance of foul play, violent conduct (on or off the pitch), spitting, use of offensive and foul language and gestures, and repeated poor/violent/aggressive behaviour will result in an FA suspension (with subsequent match bans) as well as internal investigation by the Sankey Strikers club’s committee.

The Grassroots Disciplinary Guide 2022/23 is available on the Liverpool County FA website please familiarise yourself with this. The Club’s FA Code of Conduct is available to download here and also available in your Welcome Pack.

Let's continue to uphold the highest standard of behaviour and nurture our children by leading by example.

Many thanks

C Ormesher (Club Secretary)
